WELCOME ABOARD G.L.S.F.-Oz. Membership meetings!
Hello to all of you Salmon & Trout fisherpersons! It is almost time for our December 2nd membership meeting, which will be followed by our January 6th membership meeting. Our monthly membership meetings are also open to the fishing public, no cost to you. We meet on the 1st Tuesday of each month, October through May, at the Railroad Station hall, 200 S. Railroad Street in Saukville,WI. Each month we feature one or more guest speakers talking about Salmon and Trout fishing and/or related topics. We also have a monthly raffle, $ .50 tickets, with prizes like rods and reels and assorted fishing tackle to be won. Our meetings provide a great chance for attendees to learn more about this great sport of ours and to be able to visit with other fisherpersons. All meetings start at 7:00 P.M. and last approximately two hours.
The guest speaker for our December 2nd membership meeting will be Racine’s Salmon Unlimited President Craig Bender. His presentation is titled “Tying It All Together”. This will be a discussion of fishing knots used in Great Lakes fishing and the role that knots play in the selection of terminal tackle and various types of fishing line. I hope to see you there!
The guest speaker for our January 6th membership meeting will be Wisconsin Sea Grant’s Fisheries and Invasive Species Specialist Phil Moy. He has titled his presentation to us “Invasive Species in the Great Lakes”. Phil serves as co-chair on the Chicago, IL. Carp Barrier Project and will also be giving us an update on this important project. Mark this date on your calendar too!
